It was a pleasure to collaborate with Dr Brawin Kumar, now a National Post Doctoral Fellow at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), to produce posters to raise awareness about the Madras Hedgehog, Paraechinus nudiventris. He asked me to illustrate the species, its threats, and its behavior, and he employed the resulting posters and other materials for community workshops he was conducting.
The Madras Hedgehog is India's only endemic hedgehog. Brawin has studied its distribution, habitat selection, morphology, medicinal uses, trade, and conservation.
